The one rupee coin of India is the second smallest denomination coin in circulation in the country. It is circular in shape and has a diameter of 25mm. The coin is made up of a nickel-brass composition, which gives it a golden color. On one side of the coin, there is an image of a lion along with the denomination "1". The other side of the coin features the national emblem of India, which includes an image of four lions standing back to back, mounted on an abacus with a frieze carrying sculptures in high relie on its front, and a bull on the right side. This emblem symbolizes the sovereignty, unity, and integrity of the nation. The coin is legal tender in India and is widely accepted for transactions.
